Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Greenpoint is one neighborhood gradually adopting more of the buzz and energy of downtown Manhattan.

Welcome to Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Located in Brooklyn’s northernmost corner pocket, and its boundaries generally Newton Creek, the border with Queens; the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway and North 12th Street on the south; and the East River on the west, Greenpoint is known for its small town charm and gritty industrial allure, as well as its growing artistic scene where designers, musicians, and artists are among the new wave of people flocking here.

Dubbed as Brooklyn’s “Little Poland”, when European immigrants, the biggest group being the Polish, flocked to Greenpoint to find work when the area became industrialized, their influence can still be felt in the neighborhood today with their delis and meat markets. Eclectic, but also laid-back in vibes, music venues, popping bars, and cool restaurants, its quiet atmosphere extends from residential areas, which are lined with eye-catching condos, to the main streets and waterfront.

Greenpoint have many picturesque greeneries and lush spaces, including the McCarren Park, a hub of bustling activity, where you can find lovers of the outdoors enjoying running tracks, skate park, pools, soccer, basketball, tennis, and fields for football and baseball, all of which shared by families, recent immigrants, and young renters.

With Brooklyn becoming an increasingly popular and trendy part of New York City, Greenpoint is one neighborhood gradually adopting more of the buzz and energy of downtown Manhattan.
